The San Simon Research Project (SSRP) is a research-oriented program dedicated toward understanding the diverse cultural and environmental resources within southeastern Arizona. Our goal is to conduct scientific research through public outreach programs that will serve to increase awareness and create a sense of appreciation for the natural and cultural environments. Members and researchers with the SSRP use multidisciplinary approaches to address issues relating to prehistoric and historic subsistence strategies, settlement patterning, social interaction, and land use studies.

Mission Statement
The objectives of the San Simon Research Project are to encourage the scientific pursuit of knowledge through multidisciplinary approaches within the geographical extent of the San Simon watershed and associated features; to promote an understanding and appreciation of the natural and cultural environment through public involvement and participation; to incorporate methods of resource conservation within each project, to publish and distribute the information gathered through explorations.
